Description

This board can no longer be surfed but has kept its value by becoming an original piece of art.
What to do with damaged surfboards ? I find the shape of a broken nose of a board very similar to that of a fish so it's very natural to blend the 2 elements together creating a piece of artwork that is just that little bit different and modern.
It adds a coastal vibe to your space with a contemporary and fun painted surfboard. An original and unique painting making a visual statement- bold, unique for your walls.

claudia painting fish in her studio

Claudia Hocking

Downderry, CORNWALL

Fish, surfboard art is a unique and niche concept, a natural progression from painting fish on canvases which were hung alongside display surfboards giving me the idea of combining the 2 together - fish and surfboards.

Cornwall is a county big on surfing so it's easy to get broken boards for me to paint on- the shapes are perfect for depicting a fish's streamlined body or head with the added bonus of stopping the boards going to landfill.
