Description

This landscape began with the intentions of being a dry, brown landscape but the colours overtook me! I ended up adding every colour of the rainbow with fresh ponds and a speckle of birds. It made me think of a drought-ridden landscape coming back to life and others felt similarly. I also began it in an 8-inch hoop but decided to move it to a 7-inch so the knots and paths could reach all the way to the edges.

Size is 7-inches in diameter.

Need to know

Comes as is in the hoop - please keep IN the hoop, removal may damage or loosen it over time. The hoop can also act as a hanging frame but it can also be mounted in a shadow box too.

Victoria Rose Richards

Plymouth, Devon

I'm Victoria and I've been sewing aerial embroidery landscapes since summer 2019. In growing up in an area of outstanding beauty, I'm inspired by the Devon countryside around me: the patchwork fields, reaching moorlands, lush woodlands and winding rivers. How many have fond memories of visiting the countryside as a child? In these idealized scenes I express a nostalgia that is both comforting and bittersweet, bringing back rose-tinted memories of simpler days past.
