Pip Murray, 30, is the Founder of the award winning food brand, Pip & Nut. Pip came up with the concept for the brand in 2013, while eating lots of peanut butter to support her marathon training.
She noticed that most of the products on the supermarket shelves were packed full of palm oil and added sugars and realised that there was a gap in the traditional spreads category for a natural nut butter brand that
also appealed to a younger demographic.
Following a successful crowd-funding campaign, Pip & Nut launched on to the shelves of Selfridges in January 2015. Since then, the brand has gone from strength to strength, in just three years the brand is stocked in over
5000 stores in the UK and Ireland, including Sainsbury’s.
Recently Pip & Nut won the NatWest Great British Start-up Entrepreneur of the year 2018. The brand was also voted in at no.4 in Startups.co.uk’s prestigious Startups 100 2018 – the definitive index of Britain’s best and brightest start-up companies launched in the last three years, and was won the ‘One to Watch’ Award at The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 2017. On top of this Pip herself was recently featured in the 2018 Forbes 30 under 30 Europe, won Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the Startups.co.uk’s 2017 Awards and was named in Management Today’s ’30 under 30’.
Pip & Nut’s purpose is to ‘help people love food that loves them and the planet’ and has some ambitious plans in the pipeline to help make this happen, including exciting new product development and expansion into new territories.
