Celebrating British Flowers Week

This week, we’re celebrating British Flowers Week at Holly & Co; the annual celebration of British flowers and the UK cut flower industry. Now in its fifth year, it exists to promote British flowers, their growers and the independent florists working with them.
British Flowers week was started by New Covent Garden Flower Market in 2013, the week is an annual celebration of the beauty and variety of British cut flowers and foliage.

Up until the 1970s, all flowers in the UK were grown by British flower farmers. Today, most of them in your high street florist will have been grown by large scale commercial growers and routed through the Dutch auctions.

British Flowers Week is all about buying and supporting homegrown florists and flowers. Supporting small and independent British Artisans is at the very heart of everything we hold dear at Holly & Co, which is why we’re getting behind the celebrations.

We’ve curated an entire range of floristry products, of from flower presses for budding young florists to the most beautiful book, The Language of Flowers, for those wishing to delve a little deeper into the meaning behind your blooms. Here are some of our favourites, available at the Work/Shop and by clicking the product images below. We so hope you’ll join us in supporting this wonderful week!
