Celebrating everything ‘Man Made’ – meet Zack McLaughlin of Paper & Wood

This week at Holly & Co, we’re celebrating everything ‘Man Made’ in celebration of upcoming Father’s day this Sunday. We will be featuring our favourite male Artisans and their beautiful products, to inspire other men to get making and live the ‘good life’. We’re starting with one of our dearest friends @paperandwood. We came across Zack a couple of years ago when his beautiful paper birds came up on our Instagram feed. We were blown away from the moment we laid eyes upon the handcut feathers, hand painted iridescent colouring and the delicacy of how he creates these feathery masterpieces.

I commissioned him to make a hummingbird to mark a milestone in my life. This actually led to the bird being included in the logo, thanks to the story of this gentleman inspiring our branding team. We’ve had a short journey, but Zack and I have reflected on how much we’ve already affected each others lives. As a shining light for Holly & Co, it felt good to be able to repay him. Give him what he calls “the pinnacle moment of his career so far”. That was being asked to make a bird for Sir David Attenborough! I wasn’t surprised, as his love and passion for what he does, astounds me and everyone who sees what he creates. It moves me. So much so, we featured him in our brand video.

Earlier this year we filmed his story which you can view on www.holly.co/stories. I know you will love him as much as I do.
