In this week’s podcast, Sahar shared one of her biggest life mottos – “Leap and it will appear!”
And, as we come to the end of May and #startabusinessmonth, this really hit home and made me think how many people are on that cliff edge, unable to make their mind up to start their business.
Put simply – if you don’t try, you’ll never know. You don’t have to quit your day job, you can be a ‘Sarah side-hustle’, ‘Mark the-moonlighter’ or a ‘Mary maternity-leave’! But, if you’re constantly thinking about your idea and telling your friends and family that one day you’ll do it, then you need to start taking steps today! Brainstorm a name, buy a URL or open a new Instagram account. It won’t be perfect, but start putting your ideas out there and see where it takes you.
Sahar said she believes that some mistakes are meant to be made, and looking back I can see this is so true in my businesses and others I’ve helped. You may not end up where you thought you would, but that’s the beauty of it. Don’t spend months perfecting a 5-year business plan, because no-one can tell you where your business will go or be in 5 years – no matter how many fancy letters they have after their name or how experienced they are!
Why not take 10 mins today to write down 3 small steps you can take, to get the ball rolling. I’d love to hear what you come up with?
Because sitting on the fence, umming and ahhing and skirting around your idea isn’t enough. If you truly want to start your business, just leap and see what appears! Promise you, you won’t regret it.
