Shop Small and Bring Colour To Grey This Black Friday

Black Friday implies one DAY, right? So why have we all been seeing these ‘deals’ popping up from the beginning of the month and flooding our inboxes since Monday?!
There’s a lot of research out there that shows many of these savings are not as good as they sound and last year we started to see real push back from bigger retailers. France are even looking at banning it altogether – including it in an anti-waste bill and on the grounds that Black Friday advertising could be considered “aggressive commercial practices”.
For me, the answer is simple – if you don’t need it, don’t buy it. We need to change our relationship with consumption and stop ourselves from getting sucked into the madness. But if you do need it and a small business wants to participate – then support those who really have considered to go ‘on sale’ as it’s the real deal!
