The Happy Newspaper

We’ve just taken delivery of the hugely anticipated Happy Newspaper! We’ve been the biggest fans of Emily Coxhead from the moment we came across her on Instagram.

Creator, Director, Designer, Editor, Promoter and Postlady of The Happy Newspaper, Emily is from a tiny village in Lancashire and strives to add as much happiness to the world through creativity. “I graduated in Graphic Design from Manchester School of Art in 2014, decided to go Freelance and do exactly what I wanted to do and make others a little bit happier in the process.”

Emily’s main aim is to add a little bit of sunshine to a person’s day. Her colourful and vibrant illustrations inspire us to be more cheerful and more positive. The Happy Newspaper is filled by magical empowering words all funded by a Kickstarter campaign of just £500. Full of hand picked happy stories from around the globe, this newspaper seeks to do the opposite to newspapers as we know them; The Happy News celebrates all that’s good in the world whilst being creative and colourful to look at. How utterly genius is that? She is the epitome of bringing colour to grey.

Earlier this year we asked Emily to film her story for Holly & Co in order to inspire others, and my goodness it does just that. She made everyone in the office cry with her honesty, bravery and sheer determination to make the world a brighter place. Watch it below, it will seriously inspire.

The Happy News available to buy on our shop counter, so make sure you pick up a copy if you pop by – it will add that much needed sunshine to your summer. ☀
