The Most Creative Years Of Your Life

One of my favourite things Mark said on the podcast this week, was that the years between 55 – 75 are the most creative of your life. It might seem a little ironic tucked in amongst all of the Kidpreneur talk but I think it highlights our message even more. That creativity is SO important, and why should we lose all enjoyment of creativity in between childhood and 55?! More importantly WHY do we?!
.
Something we always prioritise at Holly & Co is creativity! It leads us in all we do and is the common thread running through everything – from our office decor right through to our major events. No effort is spared in making sure everything we do sparks imagination and is fun, exciting and different!
.
Yes, sometimes we may stretch ourselves a little further to achieve our creative vision, but boy is it noticed by everyone who comes in contact with it! And it keeps us excited and passionate and allows us to get through the day-to-day and the less exciting stuff (!) because we know our brains can go glitter mad once we get to the good stuff!
.
In short, creativity is SO crucial, at every age and in every career! We should be teaching it to every child throughout their education, encouraging it in the workplace and expecting it from the older generations too, instead of writing people off when they hit a certain age.
.
I believe creativity is like a muscle, and it must be worked daily to grow strong. Seek out collaboration in work and life – there is so much to learn from others! Do something you love! If you’re unhappy, change something – career hop or better yet, start your own business! Unplug, get outside and walk, ask for feedback – just keep learning and improving!
.
Thank you, Mark, for highlighting the importance of creativity at any age, and reminding us not to waste years without it. I can’t wait for the years ahead x
