Diabet This K1d
Lochie is a 12 year old dude, with freckles on his face, a passion … ok an addiction to Rugby … and a pancreas that decided to no longer play ball!
At the age of 5, Lochie’s life changed forever, he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes where he now has at least 5 injections on a daily basis, this never phased Lochie, he took it in his stride and packed his insulin bag with his rugby boots and carried on being the joyful, fun and bonkers boy he always was.
At the age of 9, Lochie decided he wanted to change what could be perceived as a negative … into a positive. He took a loan of £40.00 from the bank of Mum and Dad and set off to raise awareness of T1 Diabetes, a smile .. and some pennies too!
He designed a range of funny mugs, prints and cards that he could sell and donates 25% of his profits to JDRF.
Lochie was honoured to be interviewed by Holly as part of the Kidpreneur Campaign, meet the team of Holly & Co along with having his first retail order secured at Holly & Co where he now proudly has his goodies on show in the café there … and makes any excuse to drive down to see the team (& eat all the cakes!) when we can.
