Hand Embroidered Care Labels

Exclusive to Holly & Co!

When we first learnt about Emma’s amazing mission to create care instructions for people, we knew we had to get them in our shop.

All of our, everyday clothing has a little label stitched inside, telling us how to care for it, but what about the wearer?

These gorgeous hand stitched care labels can be stitched into your child school jumper, cardigan, or their bag, as a little daily reminder that they’re not alone.  Returning to school, or even starting for the first time is always going to be both exciting and a little daunting.  Especially after so many have been away during lockdown.  But by popping one of these lovely messages, hidden away inside the sleeve of a jumper, they know they can have a little sneak if they need a bit of reassurance.

Each tag is created by Emma in her studio, with a little bit of love sewn in to each one, for people of any age to stitch inside their clothes for those days when you just need a bit of a boost.

Each label, measuring 5cm, is made from 100% cotton thread, on a cotton tape, which means that it can go through the wash and still look just as lovely. They are supplied inside a small tin, with its own needle and spool of thread.

Emma Giacalone

I am Emma, a textile artist, living in a small market town in South Gloucestershire.  I have always been creative, but before having children worked in a corporate role in an office environment.  I yearned for the opportunity to spend my time doing something I found to be a little more fulfilling, and whilst on maternity leave, I started experimenting with different creative techniques.

The method I use to make my work – freehand machine embroidery – is essentially like drawing with a sewing machine.  Building up layers of material to create colour and texture, resulting in beautiful textile collages.
