Instagram and Time Out present Experience London – a virtual festival to support small businesses!

Time Out and Instagram have teamed up to host a virtual, two-day festival to support small businesses in London and New York!

The Experience:LDN and Experience:NYC festivals will be held on July 9 and July 10 via Time Out’s Instagram Live

As if I didn’t already love Instagram and Time Out enough, they’ve now teamed up to support independent businesses as lockdown begins to ease – and raise money for worthy causes in the process too. You can tune in LIVE on Time Out London and Time Out NYC’s Instagram accounts from 10am – 5pm on July 9th and 10th. Covering food, beauty fitness, and interiors, there’s something for everyone! Find out here more here.

Eva Chen, Instagram’s head of Fashion Partnerships (who is just fantastic and if you don’t follow her already I highly recommend!) said; “Small businesses are the heart of the Instagram community and now, more than ever, people should support the businesses they love. We’re thrilled to work with Time Out to feature some of our favourites in Experience:NYC and Experience:LDN. These businesses have come together these last few months to uplift their communities and are an inspiration to everyone.”

Time Out is a brand known for championing local businesses and culture and for this festival they will work alongside Instagram to connect locals with independent businesses in a meaningful way. The two-day event will showcase a variety of independent BIPOC, female and LGBTQ+ owned small businesses that have uplifted their communities throughout the last several months. During the festival, viewers will be encouraged to support small and independent businesses through gift card purchases, food orders and donations on Instagram, which will go towards Robin Hood in NYC and Hospitality Action in the UK. The partnership with Instagram is part of a wider Time Out Love Local campaign, an initiative to support local businesses during this time.

If you’re a small business looking for advice on how to use Instagram for business, I chatted to Gord Ray, Brand Development Lead at Instagram, who shared so many invaluable insights and tips! You can watch the interview here – pen and paper at the ready!
