Black & Beech

Cardiff, Wales

Hi, I am Stacey, and in 2016 I founded Black & Beech with a mission to make conscious, purposeful, feminist informed fashion.

From concept to creation, we set out to support women, to inspire feminist activism and to create timeless, quality apparel in an environmentally conscious way.

In the last five years, Black & Beach has reached over 20,000 customers worldwide, supported dozens of local suppliers and creatives and raised almost £20,000 for women’s rights charities.

The story behind the business
Meet Black & Beech

Black & Beech started in 2016 when fashion design lecturer, and mum, Stacey Grant-Canham had her first child.

The thread that flows is one of intersectional feminism. From the responsibility we take by paying the living wage, making as much as possible in our home city of Cardiff, and the UK more broadly. To the charities and causes we champion. We are passionate advocates of doing fashion differently.

We support equality and donate to Abortion Support Network through our Resistance range.

In 2018 we created a parent-focused product range donating to Repeal 8. Our YES necklace was worn by Roisin Ingle, Marian Keyes, and Aisling Bea to raise funds for Together for Yes, Terminations for Medical Reasons and In her shoes:Women of the 8th.

Most of all our range gets people talking about issues. And its this that is our raison d’être. To date we have donated over £13,000 to support Women’s rights charities.
