This is what a founder looks like
At Holly & Co, supporting, championing and empowering all those who identify as female founders is in our DNA, so we do it year round. Then each March, we go all out to mark International Women’s Day and challenge our community to show the world, in all kinds of creative ways, that this is what a founder looks like; women with their sleeves rolled up, kids strapped to chests, getting stuck in. Help support women-owned businesses this year by shopping from female founders.
The future is female founded
WE NEED FLEXIBILITY TO ACHIEVE EQUALITY
Why do we think the future is female founded? Because in a world set up around men, being able to work in the way we choose to, being creatively and mentally fulfilled, and staying firmly in charge of our own destinies and finances has never mattered more. We need flexibility to achieve equality and that means building our own businesses, busting stereotypes and showing the world that #ThisIsWhatAFounderLooksLike — not the shiny Apprentice-style models.
Female founders for the next generation
FOR OUR CHILDREN’S CHILDREN
Kids need to grow up and see women running companies. As the saying goes, ‘You have to see it to be it’ and that’s another key reason we strive to empower women through business. For all those stuck in a triple shift life, caring for family, going to work and doing 60% more emotional labour on top, we need to help level the playing field by showing young people how we can work on our own terms. The more visibility the next generation has of this, the better.
