This Limited Edition Portuguese Alvarinho is a sunny holiday, boxed! Expect intense aromas of passion fruit and vibrant citrus, followed by a surprisingly full-bodied, fun and fruity taste. It’s all rounded off with a salty minerality, giving it that ‘relaxing by the pool’ feeling.
Vinho Verde is in the North of Portugal, near the cooler Atlantic coast and the Spanish border. It’s split into 9 sub-regions. And by far the most prestigious of these is Monção e Melgaço. That’s where we discovered our winemaker, Secundino Durães, who has been growing Alvarinho for over 35 years. He’s one of Portugal’s most accomplished Alvarinho producers.
At Laylo we work with independent winemakers and a Master of Wine to find great wines and put them in eco-friendly packaging. Each box contains the equivalent of three bottles of wine, stays fresh for six weeks once open and generates 90% less carbon than glass.
