  • The vintage illustration is applied to the wood and the piece is reverse painted black.
  • A secure pin fastener is attached to the back.

This design is inspired by the tradition of lovers' eyes, miniature portraits of the eye used to express affection discreetly. The Prince of Wales (later George IV) reportedly sent a token of his love to Maria Fitzherbert, an event which led to lovers' eyes becoming fashionable.
