The story behind the business
Meet 56 Table
A lifelong passion for handcrafts and textiles and a career as a prop stylist for the fashion industry, I've been lucky enough to travel the world on sets and shoots seeking out treasures with which to tell stories.
A small baby and a partners dream of setting up a coffee shop, '56', saw my styling take a back seat. I set up a small shop within the cafe selling homewares & gifts alongside vintage pieces and handcrafts sourced on my travels. When lockdown brought hospitality crashing to a halt and the cafe closed, I put the shop online. Turning to my rusty fashion degree skills, I started to design and make pieces for my son at the kitchen table. 56 Table was born.
A place to celebrate unique pieces made at my table and those of others, celebrating and honouring traditional craft practices. Designed to be repurposed, repaired and reloved. Curated with care for the planet and the people that made them.
