Adventures in Print
Norfolk
From my cosy home studio nestled in the Norfolk countryside, I combine time-honoured printmaking traditions with fresh, contemporary colours to create botanical treasures that celebrate the quiet magic of British seasons.
Rather than creating garden scenes or floral arrangements, I practice what's known as botanical portraiture – the intimate study of singular flowers and leaves. Like Georgia O'Keeffe's revolutionary approach to florals, I treat each bloom as a portrait subject, studying how flowers emerge from their stems, how leaves unfurl, how buds form part of the plant's complete story.
This focused approach allows me to truly know my subjects. Working primarily at A6 and A5 scale, I can capture the essential character of Britain's everyday flowers – the humble daisy, resilient poppy, striking thistle – those often-overlooked blooms that have been my constant companions since childhood in the Scottish countryside.

Adventures in Print began as my creative sanctuary - a place where my love of flowers, changing seasons, and the gentle art of hand-carving could flourish. As a self-taught printmaker, surface designer, and devoted mother, I've discovered that life's most beautiful moments often arrive disguised as ordinary days: the first daffodils pushing through winter soil, sweet peas climbing cottage walls in summer, or that golden hour when autumn light filters through bare branches.
My Norfolk home sits surrounded by the very hedgerows and country lanes that inspire each new creation. Here, I spend my days wandering familiar paths, sketching seasonal discoveries, then returning to my studio to transform these moments into hand-carved linocut designs. Every piece tells a story of simple pleasures: morning walks through dewy meadows, the satisfying crunch of leaves underfoot, or those perfect summer evenings when the world feels golden and endless.
