Solo artist behind Behold Relics

Behold Relics

South East England

Bringing a touch of the unusual to everyday jewellery, Behold Relics aims to create wearable pieces of treasure that you won’t find anywhere else.

Influenced by folklore, mythology and the natural world, my pieces celebrate the power of ancient objects and the mystery behind unearthed relics. My designs are predominantly made using the lost-wax casting method, a technique of jewellery making that is believed to have first been used around 5000 years ago!

The story behind the business
Meet Lucy

I've always been a jewellery magpie, but it wasn't until the pandemic that I discovered the art of silversmithing after stumbling across a Youtube video. I spent my long days of furlough researching techniques and experimenting, not to mention spending all my disposable income on tools and supplies.

My dad built my first jeweller’s bench for me as a Christmas present which I still use today! My style started to emerge slowly in the following years, and Behold Relics was born.

I love using the lost-wax technique, sculpting designs by hand in soft jewellers' wax to create beautifully textured objects that are then cast in metal. When I'm not making jewellery I run a bookshop, and I think my love of stories and storytelling hugely influences my work.
