Having previously both worked in marketing and finance roles in large companies, Claire’s love of fine quality chocolate inspired her and husband Andy to take a leap of faith. Chococo’s story began in a backstreet in Swanage in 2002 in a former hairdressing unit, still complete with 1960s hairdressing furniture!

The ground floor became our first little chocolate kitchen where customers would watch us handmake our creations, and the upstairs became our first shop. Over the years we’ve expanded our Swanage Chocolate House and also added new ones in Winchester, Exeter and Horsham… with more to come!

Now we’re a team of 80 people, still handmaking chocolate treats and still working directly with local producers in the South West and direct trade partners in Colombia, Ecuador and Madagascar to source the finest chocolate made exclusively for Chococo with great relationships and ensuring that cocoa farmers benefit directly from our work.
