I originally trained as an actor in Paris and toured shows in Europe. When I started a family, I pivoted to teaching theatre in schools in my home town, London. It took a seismic event, the loss of my mother, years later, for me to stop and evaluate where I was going. I wanted to work with more creative freedom again and so I took on a studio, just off Coldharbour Lane in Brixton, South London. I had studied design at Uni and loved it. My studio neighbour was a milliner who worked with feathers….

I eventually developed a great design with no idea how to get it out into the world. Cue a chance encounter with the co-founder of a major online interiors shop. She liked my designs and gave me chance. On launch day I received 3 orders! I’m forever grateful for the boost this validation gave my business. I hope to do the same for someone else, one day.
