From childhood, I’ve always been happiest when doing something creative. I chose a degree in TV Production and after graduating I worked my way to the position of TV Producer for an art and craft broadcasting company.

Work involved meeting creative business owners and producing shows that demonstrated their craft. Though my job was a creative role, I yearned for the weekends where I spent my time making the craft projects I’d seen at work. I realised that being physically creative with my hands was what I enjoyed most. I became desperate to start my own business but knew that it needed to happen organically.

I had not long moved into a new home with my husband. On a trip to drop things at the tip I saw some G Plan side tables being thrown away. I couldn’t believe anyone would chuck furniture like that, so I took them home. With family members in the woodwork trade, I took their advice (and tools!) to refurbish the tables. I was so pleased with the results and began looking for more items to restore.

After filling our home with furniture, I realised that so many other people want their homes to be unique, but don’t have the time or tools to source and restore furniture themselves. That’s where the idea for my business began, back in 2016. Demand grew and my business shifted to keep up, I now make cabinets to order, painted however my customers choose.
