Hi, I’m Jillie, a hand-building ceramicist with a lifelong habit of making. I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember, always drawing, crafting, or working on something with my hands. It’s where I find the most joy, and even on the busiest days I’ll still make time to create, even if it’s just a quick doodle with my morning coffee.
Over the years I’ve explored all kinds of crafts, from glass blowing and mosaic to papier-mâché, before finding my way to ceramics. It felt like everything clicked into place.
Every piece I make is hand-built with care, patience, and a genuine love for the process. I hope that sense of connection carries through, and that my work becomes something to be used, enjoyed, and loved for years to come.

Meet Jillie Harkness Ceramics
I began my career as a map illustrator, before Google Maps was a thing! A whole different world to what I do now. And although very different from the illustrative nature of my work now, I loved it.
Later in life I became a mum to two girls and took a break from work. I loved being a mum but ultimately I wanted to reignite my passion for creating. So I went on different artistic courses to not only scratch the creative itch, but ultimately find my passion.
I went to a ceramic class and from that point on was hooked. My skills developed over the years from throwing to eventually doing the hand building you see today.
