Hello, I'm Lene - a Danish artist based in London. I was born in Denmark in 1974, but grew up in Brussels, Belgium.
The multinational environment prompted my passion for exploring new countries and cultures, and has heavily influenced my work as an artist.

In 1995, I attended Kent Institute of Art and Design, in Rochester, England and later graduated from London College of Printing with a 1:1 Degree honours in Graphic and Media Design in 2000.
During my time studying, I had the opportunity to do workplacements in Denmark, England and The Philippines. Since then, I have been working from my studio in Crystal Palace, South London, as a full-time visual artist and freelance graphic designer.
My work is influenced by my background as a graphic designer. Typography and grids drift in and out of my pieces creating haunting images and surprising messages.
I pay great attention to the smaller scale details of everyday life, attempting to capture the hidden beauty or interesting aspect of even the most ordinary of events or objects. I often creates my work by incorporating unusual materials, often re-cycled.
