Oxford Ceramics

Oxford Ceramics - home of contemporary porcelain tableware that surprise, intrigue and surely make you smile. All designs are created and carefully handcrafted by Kina Gorska.
We work with English Bone China - a type of porcelain that is white as snow, divinely translucent and super durable. Everything in our studio is handmade. We fire it in our purpose-made kilns which are uniquely designed to mature ceramics at a range of different temperatures.
My name is Kina Gorska and I am the founder of Oxford Ceramics studio where I manufacture contemporary handmade porcelain crockery, unique giftware and jewellery.
The adventure with ceramics started in my childhood. Together with my brother and sister, we used to spend summer holidays in beautiful countryside of the lake district Mazury in Poland. I remember my dad mining clay for us from a small deposit that we had found nearby our cottage. We played for hours creating simple dishes and figurines. Although it was all childish fun, it directed the subsequent course of my life and soon after, I knew what I wanted to do when I grew up.
Later, I continued my artistic education at the Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw in Poland. I discovered porcelain when taking student apprenticeship in historic Porcelain Factory in Ćmielów (Poland). This experience changed my approach to creating ceramics. Porcelain clicked with me immediately and I understood that like any other material I used before, it completed my esthetics, added grace, elegancy and quality to my work.
Nowadays, I run small ceramic studio and gallery in the heart of Oxford. I make quirky porcelain giftware inspired by nature and natural processes.
