Hello, I’m Lucy Creed. I originally trained in Fine Art, and 10 years ago I fell in love with the humble greetings card for its truly democratic capacity to share design and humour.

At Poet and Painter everything is designed in-house, mainly by me, still feverishly drawing and coming up with daft ideas, with help ad hoc from the break-speed wit and friendship of my glorious partner in grime from art school, Bryn Dineen.

The designs are, much like their makers, untethered. We write all our own content, we relish the freedom of approaching each card as a separate piece of artwork we can splash around with. We usually have no idea what’s coming next, which is just how we like it, but our messaging will always be life affirming and warm-hearted and sometimes a bit on the cheeky side. We do love a bottom.

We’ve sold over 4 million cards worldwide, which is both gratifying and slightly overwhelming. Really we’re just a group of well-meaning fools who want to have a nice time, work hard to scratch a living and share the love.
