Rebecca Strickson

Margate, Kent

Hey there! I’m Rebecca, and I am an illustrator, artists and do-er of things with over 15 years experience. You may have seen my work already with Holly’s Campaign Shop Independent, amongst others; I create bold, bright and unique prints, cards, patches and homeware from a heart full of community, collaboration and protest.

Working from my studio in sunny seaside Margate, I create joyful and positive work designed with a passionate delight.

The story behind the business
Meet Rebecca Strickson

Rebecca Strickson as an artist has been a lifelong journey. I was always drawing as a child, fascinated with watching my late father, a draughtsman, working at home on his drawing board.

After studying Art 20 years ago, and many years and many wildly different jobs I decided to bite the bullet and go freelance as a commercial artist in 2009. I’ve had the immense pleasure of working for clients from Royal Mail and English Heritage to the BBC, Channel 4, NHS and Equity but I knew I also wanted to make my own work to establish myself as an artist.

Me as a brand was born in 2017 when I tentatively opened a print shop with no expectations and little self-belief. How wrong I was! I’ve had plenty of hairy moments but here I am presenting the best of what I believe I have to you, the discerning, gorgeous Holly&Co customer.

I am obsessed with colour, joy and the power of community, and as such have worked with Holly herself on several Shop Independent campaigns. I believe in shopping small, local and intentionally with an aim to create the finest pieces infused with my passion and love to fill your homes and lives.
