Hi, we’re Darrell and Julia Gibbs, welcome to our world of paper goods and printed happiness! Our nostalgic notebooks & accessories take inspiration from travels, nature and our collections of vintage objects and ephemera, using a mix of traditional printing techniques to bring our designs to life. We recycle and repurpose items such as old papers, maps and bus destination blinds, to give them a new lease of life as something useful that we hope will bring you joy!

We met while studying at the University of Brighton, and set up Sukie after Darrell graduated with an MA in Illustration from the Royal College of Art. At his graduation show Darrell made some ‘Rescued Paper Notebooks’ from unwanted papers collected during his course. We thought he might sell a few of the books at the show, but when Habitat placed an order for 24,000 we seized the opportunity, and set about making the books and building a business! We use traditional bookbinding and printing techniques, such as letterpress, linocut and silk screen. Some items are made in house, and some in India, where we have worked with the same family business for over 20 years! We continue to add more items to our range, but recycling and sustainability remains at the heart of what we do, and we aim to bring that to our products in a unique and unexpected way.
