Following working in a high-pressure job and a need to reignite my artistic side, I set myself the challenge to sell my handmade headbands and accessories at a couple of local craft markets in late 2019 - not too long before the pandemic hit just a few months later.

It was during this time where I found myself making them for friends who needed something to wear on their many zoom calls, and save them the effort of styling their hair during lockdown!

Raised by a creative household, I was brought up in a home that owned every craft tool imaginable, along with a resourceful upbringing, thanks to family who sewed everything from cushions to school concert costumes.

Curly Thread Co. pieces are made in small batches, making sure to minimise fabric waste by creating as many products from a single piece of fabric as possible. Materials are always sourced locally, second-hand or from other small UK businesses.
