Join Colour Friday on 29th November
It’s shocking that last year, as a nation, we spent…
- £13.3 billion on Black Friday¹ despite the fact that…
- Almost half of UK shoppers said they rarely or never used their Black Friday purchases, almost a third said they regretted buying them² and more than half expressed concerns about the negative environmental impact of overconsumption during the sale period.³
- Plus, 1 in 3 small to medium sized businesses fear closure by the end of 2024⁴ and small businesses generate around £2.4 trillion a year for the UK economy and employ 16.7 million people.⁵
Imagine the difference we could make if we redistributed the £13.3bn we spent on Black Friday to small businesses instead! Help us celebrate the colour and creativity small businesses bring to the UK.

THE CREATOR OF THIS YEAR’S EXCLUSIVE ARTWORK
Every year, we commission new campaign artwork by an exciting artist and this year, we’re absolutely thrilled to be working with the genius Rebecca Strickson. Inspired by the traditional imagery of trade union banners and protest placards, Rebecca’s work explores the power of community and collaboration — which couldn’t be more perfect for what we stand for. Do keep an eye out for her colourful design of our message ‘Bring Joy Shop Small’ and share it with everyone you know!
