The Congregation of Inspiration

We were only too aware of what was out there for small businesses when it came to learning and networking. Conferences that skirt around the edges of need to know fundamentals aren’t engaging, lack practical take-home advice and, quite honestly, are predominantly dull affairs!

So, we decided to do something about it! We created a unique day; full of energy, inspiration, real advice, and invited a whole host of incredible guest speakers and panellists to share their unique lessons and advice.

Thank you to each and every one of you who joined us on the 28th September, we have exciting plans for 2019 so make sure you are signed up to our mailing list.

Your Host

Holly Tucker MBE, Founder of Notonthehighstreet and Holly & Co

For over a decade Holly Tucker has been the champion of small business in the UK.

Holly founded Notonthehighstreet in 2006 based on a belief that creative small businesses, those bringing colour to everyday grey, deserved a platform that reached beyond their local town hall walls. Twelve years on, Notonthehighstreet now supports over 5000 small businesses and has pumped £600 million into the UK economy.

In 2017, Holly founded Holly & Co, after realising small creative businesses needed a place to gather, to be inspired and gain sage business advice, but in an imaginative and creative way. Awarded her MBE for services to small business in 2012 and named UK Ambassador to Small Creative Businesses in 2015, Holly’s lifetime mission is to advise and inspire in equal measure. It is with this ethos that the Congregation of Inspiration has been brought to life.

Our Keynote Speaker: Julie Deane OBE

We’re thrilled to be welcoming Julie Deane OBE as our keynote speaker at The Congregation of Inspiration 2018. She will be sharing her story, all the highs and lows along the way, and best advice on how to create an iconic brand that stands the test of time.

Julie started The Cambridge Satchel Company with her mother Freda at their kitchen table in Cambridge with a budget of just £600 with one goal: to make enough money to send Julie’s children to a better school. While brainstorming ideas Julie focused in on her frustration with poor quality school backpacks the idea was born. Numerous collaborations with high end brands, a loyal social media following, in the fashion media spotlight and numerous celebrities adorning the satchel propelled the brand forward.

In just over five years The Cambridge Satchel Company became a global brand being sold in over 120 countries with an annual turnover of excess of £50 million.

Julie was awarded The Queen’s Award for International Trade from Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, an OBE followed for her services to entrepreneurship and she was appointed Entrepreneur in Residence at the British Library.
