A bouquet with a passport, a story (and possibly a slight tendency to overpack). 'Blooms for Malta' began with a commission from a friend for her home in beautiful Gozo, Malta.
Painted in my studio, this loose, expressive floral is a joyful jumble of soft pinks, deep berry reds, chalky whites and sunny yellows, all dancing about against a softly textured grey-green background.
The fine art giclée print is taken from a detail of the working drawings in my sketchbook, offering a little peek behind the petals and a glimpse into the creative process behind the original painting.
A small riot of floral colour, with its heart somewhere between the studio and Malta.
