The story behind the business

Meet Baba Bears

Hello! I'm Ashley, and I created Baba Bears whilst on maternity leave with my first baby back in 2022.

After working in fashion for a decade I was ready to take on a new, more meaningful, venture and whilst trying to figure out my next move, the universe brought everything together in a way I never expected. Shortly after finding out I was pregnant with my rainbow baby, things quickly changed around me as we were thrown into lockdown during the pandemic and I was on bed rest with a difficult pregnancy. To keep my mind busy, I taught myself to crochet and started making bits and bobs for baby. I then realised I couldn't find any personalised soft toys available (except machine-made or mass-made ones with no personality and questionable origins). This lit a fire for me to create something so special and authentically handmade from start to finish.

It's been a long journey of finding my feet as a business owner, but I couldn't be more proud of the ethically produced keepsakes I now have the honour of sending to their forever homes.
