Hi I'm Danni!
Self taught in my little home studio, I make fun hand-pinched, hand-painted ceramics. Everything from mugs and cups with quotes to make you smile, to functional yet quirky grazing boards. Each piece has its own unique charm and is made slowly with love from me to you.

The story behind the business
Meet Bertie&Rae
Bertie&Rae comes from the idea of giving a gift that can be treasured for a lifetime.
After a breast cancer diagnosis in 2021, my house turned into a florist with flowers, all very beautiful and thoughtful, but after a week or two these had all been thrown away. This has always played on my mind, what if we can gift people something that shows we care but can last a lifetime.
So after lots of brainstorming and an unhealthy obsession with homewear, here we are - Bertie&Rae. Named after my two children, I make things by hand, with love. Things that carry a story, that make you smile. Things you can buy for yourself, or for others, that become a permanent part of your home.
My creations are more than objects, they are reminders that you must find the tiny moments of joy in everyday. Celebrating the beauty of individuality in every piece I create. Each item is handcrafted with intention, heart, and a touch of unpredictability — because perfection isn’t the goal, authenticity is.
Rooted in the belief that real beauty lies in uniqueness. Whether it’s a slight wobble, a glaze run, or an uneven edge, each ‘imperfection’ is what makes my work one-of-a-kind.
I hope you enjoy my products as much as I enjoy making them!
