Diego Arellano

Hackney, London

Art was a mistake. I had an idea for a poster, but my lack of artistic skills sent me to an art supply shop for stickers. The stickers I got didn’t stick because they were transfer letters. After a loud WTF!, I gave it a go, found it fun, and started playing with words on mini prints.

A friend asked, “Why don't you try screen printing?”. And here we are, years later, still having fun, but with ink on every single piece of clothes I own.

The story behind the business
Meet Diego

Born and raised in Peru but based in London since 2010, Diego has been dealing with words for more than 25 years as a journalist, advertising copywriter, short stories writer and printmaker.

His work is full of scribbles, irony, swearing, but over all, humour.

He started printing editions of 19 because, “I like odd numbers and 19 sounded like the oddest of all”. Since that statement, he has also released editions of 57. “Nineteen times three is fifty seven”, he mathematically explained.

In 2023, he founded 19 of Everything, an art project with all his hand-made screen prints, other artistic formats, and non-essential products.
