I'm Tori - a 31-year-old artist and the owner of Gobcake.

I have a degree in Fine Art, a love for food and a hate for waste! I love that I spend so much time on my work, only for it to be eaten and let’s say, given back to the earth?

I made my first cake pop over 6 years ago, in preparation for my trial shift at POP Bakery. I later found out that I was more of a personality hire but I turned out to be pretty good! Particularly as I ended up running the company for 4 years, until its sale.

Having lived happily in London for 12 years but being afraid of London commercial rent; I built a tiny bakery in my dad’s back garden in Northumberland. I now commute weekly, in the opposite direction to most!

My values as a business owner for myself and any future employees are maintaining a good work-life balance, fair pay, rewards for hard work and generally treating people how you would like to be treated!

And if you've ever wanted to start your own business, I would say, go for it! Despite my experience, I didn't feel prepared to start Gobcake but you learn pretty quickly!
