Painting is something I’ve always loved, but it wasn’t until a few years ago when I got sober and had my daughter that I was able to start pushing myself creatively, as both those moments reshaped my life in the best ways.

In 2022 I applied to the Other Art Fair’s New Futures scheme and somehow ended up as one of the two winners. It was the first time I showed my work to people outside my close friends and family. I find sharing my art pretty nerve-wracking, both online and in person, but the response was lovely and since then painting has become more and more of my full-time world.

Every day life with its ups and downs inspires me. Becoming a mum has taught me a lot about letting go of control and embracing the imperfect. This was also the inspiration behind my first ever Splat, which was the result of a very messy situation caused by our cat that I tried to recreate in a fun way.
