Rebecca Ceramics
Brighton/London
Rebecca Ceramics embraces the crossover space between art, craft and design. Objects and designs play with our sense of what is familiar, functional and beautiful. Each piece is a curious balance between the raw materiality of clay and glaze and an object’s function or purpose.
Rebecca Ceramics loves to collaborate. Recent commissions have included works for Aberdeen Standard Life, Chateau Villepreux and a design collaboration with UK fashion designer Olivia Ruben. Several media have featured Rebecca Ceramics work including most recently; The Great Pottery Throwdown, Channel 4’s Inside Out Homes, Etc Magazine, Landscape Magazine and more.

After I was told it would be too hard to be a violinist when I grew up, I decided I wanted to be an artist instead. Curiously, no one said this would also be difficult, so I carried on none the wiser. I always loved making things. I am the person who hand makes cards, unties difficult knots for you, paints rubbish and makes it into a community sculpture. Like many artists I have always had several jobs at a time (including violin restoration) to support my art and ceramics. Gradually I worked to make it my full time creative business. I love making designs and collaborating with other businesses. Each opportunity is a chance to be creative, which is the core of my work.
