Working from your cherished photographs, I’ll embroider a characterful and lifelike portrait of your beloved pet: whether a dog, or a cat, horse, or even an aardvark (yes, I have done an aardvark!) My work is a mixture of hand and machine embroidery, meticulously building up layers of fabrics, threads, and countless stitches, to create a vibrant portrait, and a unique piece of art.

Meet Rocketfullofpie
There are two things you need to know about me: I love sewing and I LOVE my dog. From those twin passions came my business, embroidering bespoke pet portraits.
My type of sewing is often called threadpainting, and this is captures what makes it so perfect for pet portraits. Unlike more traditional mediums, the use of threads adds a tactile dimension to the art. The colours, directions, lengths, and sheer multitude of stitches, evoke the soft, scruffy, furry wonder of our pets. The eyes, adorned with delicate hand-stitched highlights, reveal the soul. The process goes beyond mere photography or painting, creating a portrait that resonates with feeling.
The embroidery is mainly done on my old Singer from the 1950s, so there’s nothing digital about it – it’s just me “painting” with a sewing machine, working textile magic to immortalize your beloved pet.
