Hello! Im Alan and I'm a freehand embroiderer with a passion for animals.
I mainly create embroidered portraits of pets, these are perfect keepsakes or presents for loved ones.
I have been sewing pet portraits since 2016 and each day I love it more and more. I enjoy capturing emotions and character by stitch, something I hope to be doing for a long time!

Im a freehand embroiderer who discovered his love for sewing whilst studying a Bachelors Degree in Decorative Arts at Nottingham Trent University. I then graduated a Masters Degree in Textile Design Innovation.
I had never touched a sewing machine before my degree in 2016 and the first animal I embroidered was a rabbit and I’ve never looked back!
My final collection was a range of embroidered woodland creatures, from this I started to have people contact me asking for embroidered versions of their pets?!
I casually embroidered peoples pets while working jobs throughout the years and in 2022 I lost my full time job. This was the best thing to happen to me as its allowed me to turn Stitched by Alan into my full time business.
Since starting the business it's been going from strength to strength. Most recently in 2023 I was featured on the second season of BBC One's - Make it at Market. Which has been a life changing opportunity for me, allowing me to showcase my passion to the world.
