Studio Gardiner

Studio Gardiner makes detailed infographic tea towels, oven gloves and prints – designed to be as interesting to read as they are to use.

Founded by Stuart Gardiner in 2008 and now run with his wife Sam, the studio is based in Lincoln. Alongside the shop, Stuart designs infographics for museums and cultural institutions including the V&A, Wellcome Collection and the Houses of Parliament, and that same love of a well-told story goes into every piece, from pairing wine with food to the world's great cheeses.

Everything is printed on cotton and made locally in Lincolnshire.

The story behind the business
Meet Studio Gardiner

Studio Gardiner brings together two very different design backgrounds. Stuart studied Graphic Information Design at Falmouth and started out in the music industry, where he worked with artists such as Iron Maiden. He founded Studio Gardiner in 2008 with a simple idea: everyday household objects could be beautiful and teach you something at the same time. Sam joined him after leaving her role as Head of Design at Laura Ashley, bringing an eye for pattern, colour and what people love to have at home. The tea towels are packed with facts on everything from matching wine with food to the cheeses of the world, while the tattoo-style oven gloves are a nod to Stuart's rock and roll roots. More recently, museums have commissioned Stuart's infographics too. Everything is designed in Lincoln and made locally in Lincolnshire. Tea towels worth drying for.
