Hello and thanks for popping in for a read! The Primitive Home was founded in 2021 by myself (Lizzie), after being made redundant from my very uncreative corporate job. My business began life solely as an antique and vintage homeware store, until in early 2023 I made myself a giant linen bow to hang in our cottage. The bow appeared on my Instagram page and I was very quickly inundated with messages from followers asking if I could make them one. Fast forward to August 2023 and after a bit of tweaking and fabric sourcing, I launched the Big Bows alongside my existing business and they were a huge hit!

The bows come in two sizes and designs, are sewn using beautiful EU linens and Indian cottons and each strung with velvet ribbon for hanging or tying. They have shipped all over the globe to date and adorn peoples front doors, top their Christmas trees, hang from mantles and all sorts of other places in the home. I've even sent a pair off to be used as curtain tie backs, which I think is fabulous.

A recent customer who purchased a bow to adorn her mantle at Christmas, described them as being 'an heirloom piece that can be cared for and handed down through generations'. This is exactly what I'm striving for, to create timeless pieces that add a little joy into any room.
