History Note...
This type of cross has a rich history and predates Christianity. It is known by many names and has various symbolisms, such as the Square Cross, Equal Armed Cross, Minoan Cross, Greek Cross, Cosmic Cross, Celtic Cross, Peaceful Cross, and Balanced Cross. This cross has been found far and wide throughout Eurasia and the Americas, and although it is impossible to know for sure what it represented to all cultures, many different meanings have been recorded in history.
Some interpretations suggest that it represents the four elements, seasons, winds, or directions - north, south, east, and west. In some cultures, the cross has been used to represent the union between male and female, and it is said to embody the human desire to know and experience the unfolding mystery of life. It sometimes symbolises the concept of unification between ethereal and material.
It was common for this cross to be worn at the level of the heart, so the wearer could intimately connect with the four-fold concepts that the cross symbolises.
Solid sterling silver with 18 carat gold plating.
Also available in full gold plate.
Available in a choice of chain lengths 18” or 22”.

Ruddock pieces blend bold, distinctive style with timeless elegance.
Each piece is crafted by hand using the time-honoured technique of lost wax casting. A method which involves hand-carving or sculpting each piece initially in wax form, which is then cast and replicated in metal and moulded, serving as a blueprint for further pieces. The technique ensures the intricate details of the original design are faithfully preserved.
