A handmade ceramic oyster shell Christmas tree decoration, inspired by the beaches of Margate. Each bauble is cut freehand, shaped, fired and finished with mother of pearl and real gold lustre, then hung with pink silk twine.
Living by the sea, we find oyster shells in all sizes, each unique with rippled layers and pearly insides. We try to get across to Whitstable regularly to enjoy the real thing. These ceramic versions capture that barnacled, gnarly character, making every single one different.
