For generations, all that could be heard from the Zhang smallholding was the gentle lapping of water in the river and the cries of joy when another fresh carp was caught for dinner. Until recently that is, when a US military base was set up only a couple of miles from the property, and now every day, a chinook lumbered overhead with engines so loud that poor Wei had to hang on to his rod for dear life while the water was churned like a Magimix. Still, it DID make it easier to catch the fish as they were so stunned Wei only had to reach in and grab one!
This pretty platter can be hung on your wall with your vintage plate collection or popped on your Mid-Century G-plan sideboard. Laugh as you see your friends and family do a double take! This plate comes signed by the artist and comes supplied with a plate stand.
This hand printed plate measures 26 cm in diameter and weighs 500g. We recommend this is a decorative plate only and should not be used to serve up your Sunday dinner.

I'm Haus Of Lucy, a contemporary multi-media artist. I am obsessed with marrying together the old fashioned and unloved with the contemporary, whether it's an oil painting, a ceramic figurine or a vintage plate.
Since quitting my old life as a magazine designer, I have worked with Adidas, Footlocker, Lazy Oaf, Primark and Greggs (I'm STILL waiting for that lifetime's supply of vegan sausage rolls).
I thrive on creating a contrast between old and new, urban and classic.
