A jute tote bag with a playful black cat face design, perfect for everyday use as a shopper, beach bag or stylish tote. The Jacksons bags are established worldwide as the original jute macrame bags, authentically made by hand. Having spent over 15 years refining this traditional technique, the brand's unique placement of words and characters are instantly recognisable.
Our bags are genuinely 100% sustainable, crafted from natural jute that grows in abundance as a weed on marginalised land in Bangladesh. Known locally as the ‘golden fibre’, jute has a low environmental impact with no need for water and absorbs a large amount of carbon dioxide while growing.
Each bag is handcrafted by women living in remote rural villages in southern Bangladesh. These women work from their homes and are paid directly for their work, empowering them within their own society. The Jacksons are proud to support the education, healthcare and livelihoods of these craftspeople who have become Louise Jackson’s “extended family”.
