A new limited edition print for 2024 using antique 'white letter' type. As seen in Royal Academy of Art Summer Exhibition 2024, London UK.
It’s a lovely expression don’t you think? A very striking print made with black ink. White ink tends to be somewhat transparent (and slow drying). The cameo or white-letter is the actual showing of the paper and what printers did way back when to get solid white text on the page. If only the blocks weren’t so troublesome on the press - in part due to wear. Most printers despised working with this style of type and this makes it subsequently quite difficult to source today. In 14 plus years hunting, I have only managed to acquire 2 sets. In which room would hang this?
