A beautiful statement Fox card on a shimmering electric red card with gold flecks that is hand letterpress printed, then die cut and creased to create the pop-up ears that flip up when standing. This unique and fun alternative card is hand printed and die cut twice (once for the circular shape and a second time for the pointy ears) – which means each card is hand fed through my vintage treadle press three times.
The sparkly Fox is created from a special GMUND Action vibrant electric red card that shimmers as it catches the light. GMUND action is from a paper-making dynasty founded in 1829. Styled with a 'Japanese style' string and washer envelope that can be re-used, making a useful addition to the card.
With letterpress printing, each print involves composing the design into a metal chase, known as a form, which is locked into the bed of the press ready to be inked. The form is pressed against the paper, creating a beautiful impression and tactile finish.
Card GMUND action electric red. 20cm diameter. Finished size. 10cmx20cm.Japanese string and washer envelope size. DL.

Hello, I'm Catherine, a designer and printmaker with a love of colour and illustration. After travelling in 2009, I fell in love with the range of letterpress prints I found around the world and soon got to teaching myself the traditional printing process when I returned to the UK. Today, my collection of printing presses, inks and wooden type has grown and I now create a range of paper goods focused on simple colour illustrations and the idea of having fun with paper.
