Need to Know
I start with wheel-thrown white stoneware clay, then add on hand-built ducky features and heart, underglaze the colours, biscuit fire to 900'c then transparent glaze and fire to stoneware 1220'c. At this temperature the glaze becomes glossy and smooth and you're left with a new ceramic companion.

I've been crafting duck friends for four years, always thinking of new things a duck can hold. I realised I'd never just made a duck, a regular, round friend. This one isn't held back by carrying things; he's just free.
