This stunning pair of made to order vintage cinema seats finished in lovely soft Tatie Lou 'Boucle' velvet will bring a splash of vintage style to your home. The retro design of the green and pink velvet looks so cool paired with the pink painted cast iron fittings - you won't find anything like this anywhere else!
Tatie Lou's Boucle design possesses a dreamy vintage nostalgia, created using wooden blocks and the cyanotype technique. The semi-circles signify the balance of opposing energies: the sun and the moon; the soul and the mind; the past and the present.
These are ideal as a stunning space saving alternative to a sofa, seating in a hallway or to furnish a home cinema. The curved back and deep sprung seats add comfort to the beautiful 1930’s Art Deco style. These seats were designed to be sat in for long periods.
Originally made in the 1930/40s, these chairs are very old, and when we get them, they are often not suitable for use, so we really do bring them back to life. Please expect 'character' - there will be dings in the wood and metal and they do not always sit perfectly straight. We are fussy though, so we work hard to make them as perfect as can be. The fabulous joy of vintage!
We fix our chairs to a wooden board, which means they are free-standing and stable. But you can choose to remove it and to fix them directly into the floor instead if you wish.

These are finished to order and being vintage, measurements do vary a little from seat to seat, so sizes are approximate:

Materials
Velvet: This luxurious velvet by Tatie Lou has a very short pile but a super soft feel, it truly is gorgeous. It is durable too with a very high rub rating, which means it should stay looking gorgeous for many years to come. We love to use soft velvets on our cinema seats as we feel it suits their style and reflects their past.
Wood: The wooden top rail, shaped arm rests, curved seat backs and seat bases are all stripped back and refinished with a hard wax oil. There will be marks in the wood due to their age, but this adds to their unique character. Occassionally, we do have to replace some damaged elements, but these are all finished to match the rest.
Metal: Cast iron legs and fittings are cleaned, prepped and painted, but due to their age there will be dents and marks, or character as we like to call it.
Fillings: The chairs have deep sprung seats and we replace all the fillings with mostly natural materials, adhering to modern fire safety regulations.
